Mendocino County's fire agencies are all-hazard departments that respond to fires, medical emergencies, rescues, traffic collisions, hazardous conditions and public service calls.

Volunteer firefighters are the backbone of Mendocino County's fire service. Every local fire agency relies on volunteers to provide some or all of its emergency response, making them an essential part of protecting the county's residents and visitors. 

​

The Mendocino County Fire Chiefs Association is comprised of 20 Fire Chiefs representing Mendocino County's 22 local fire agencies working together to strengthen regional coordination, training and emergency response.
